Event Details

Trace Halloween to its origins and you will be taken right back into the mists of Ancient Ireland and the Celtic festival of Samhain, a great celebration of fire and feasting that marked the end of the season of light and the beginning of the dark days of winter.

The Celts believed there was an interaction between the worlds of the living and the dead and that spirits could move between them. The Celts would disguise themselves in costumes to confuse and scare off the roaming ghosts, fairies, hobgoblins and demons.

As time passed, Irish immigrants then brought the tradition to America, home of the pumpkin, and the winter squash which has now become integral to the Halloween festivities.

To celebrate, the Irish Chamber of Commerce Singapore and St. Patrick's Society Singapore welcome you to join us online for a cupcakes and craft party – Halloween special! happening this Saturday, 30th October at 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

We are delighted to have May Wan Teh of Serpahina's with her Halloween cupcake cook along. You and your family can get creative in the kitchen and have some spooky fun learning how to make and decorate Halloween cupcakes. The list of ingredients are available in the documents section, most of which will already be lurking in your cupboard.

St Patrick's Society Singapore have created a Halloween craft booklet to print out, available in the documents section. This Halloween booklet is full of fun activities and crafts; make some ghoulish decorations, solve puzzles, go on a Halloween Hunt and create your own Halloween Hunt, simply write your clues in the blanks. Have a spooktacular time!
